#Poem for the #snow

How quickly warmth, it disappears
Hard snow, I tread upon.

Creeps the frost upon each year
Snow covers o’er sweet lawns.

The tired brooks, like children ran
Exhausted, make their sigh,

Lay down to rest upon the stones
Encased in sheets of ice.

The wind she whispers in my ear,
And scares my evening stroll
Where once the sun did play all night
With chills the leaves do roll.

The robin’s chirp brings signs of dread
It voices beauty fled.

The cold comes down upon my chest
And on my weary legs.

All things are touched with earth’s decay
Joys of hours or years.

Memories to light my way
From darkness and from fear
